My Bucket List of Foods

I have developed a "Bucket List of Foods". You know, the foods you want to try at least once before you die. I have crossed one off the list. The first item was Brie. This cheese always intrigued me. It sounds sophisticated and you always see it referenced in fancy situations. I saw on Rachel Ray that always pair the higher end cheeses with good bread not crackers. So I paired it with a good loaf of french bread.
Lesson one with french bread. Don't leave it on your kitchen counter in the paper bag for two days. It's hard to begin with and becomes rock solid with every minute that passes. I consider myself a frugal person and wasn't about to throw it away, so like any foodie on the fly, I popped into the microwave to "freshen" it up. We'll get back to the results in a minute.
Now for the Brie itself. My first taste was straight out of the fridge, chilled. Not what I expected at first. It's a creamy cheese that has a bite to it.  A little on the sharp side. No aroma to speak of. It leaves an after taste that makes you want to go back for more.
I wanted to try the Brie with the french bread. After taking the bread out of the microwave, I smothered it with the Brie. The warm bread melted the brie and oh my, what a different taste. Warm bread, creamy cheese, it was a delicious bite.  I think this is a cheese that I will introduce to my family. Anxious to see what they think of it. So one off the list and on to the next one....
